Accentuating God’s Glory

Having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven (Colossians 1:20).

God made this statement long before that will be done, nearly two thousand years ago, and all has not been reconciled yet. But this was the purpose that God set out to perform before He created the eons. Nothing is going to prevent Him from finishing it. He isn’t going to have to stop and say, “Well, I have at least saved a few million beings, but the rest, well, I tried so hard to save them and want them to be reconciled but they wouldn’t.”

If God would do this He would be admitting His failure, for His intention is to reconcile all. What a miserable God that would be. But that isn’t the kind of God the Scripture sets forth. The very fact that things are in such a condition during the eons is going to accentuate God’s glory when He shall finish and fulfill His purpose to reconcile ALL to Himself.
